Today camera plays a very important role in our smartphone and also in our life. Like at many places we take photographs with the help of our camera. And you have also heard that for a better photography you should have a good phone. So this is true but one more question arises that does megapixel plays any role in it or not? So , let's discuss something about it.

Yes, megapixel and pixels plays a very important role in cameras and even in photography. But how so before understanding this concept you should have to understand that what is pixel and megapixel.

Megapixel and pixel both are the different things. 1 megapixel is equal to the 1Million pixels [1mp = 1million pixels]. Pixels means tinny squares which you see in the image Eg , when you zoom the picture you will see tiny squares in the image and these squares together combine and form an image. I hope you should understand about pixels now let's talk about the MegaPixels. Now see if you use 12megapixels camera for photography you will get resolution of 4290 X 2800. Means, when you will multiply this no. you will 12million as answer and this answer describes that how many pixels are there in the photograph. If you will get 12 Million as a answer i.e there are 12 million pixels in a photograph. And if you capture the image with 48 megapixels you will get higher resolution and there are more pixels in the photograph. Simply, if you want to know the pixel of any photo, just calculate its resolution and you will get the correct pixels.

Pixel and Zoom

The more are the pixels the more you will able to zoom the photo. If you want to see this just take one side 12mp picture and the other side 64 mp and try to zoom both. You will see that 64mp will zoom more than the 12mp image. Reason is same that the 64mp image has the more pixels than than that of 12mp. That's why it is zooming more.

Now one more question arises the android companies give different 48mp, 64mp and 108mp cameras in smartphone but despite this iphone picture quality is much better that that of android?

You all have seen bigger megapixel camera in the android phones but iphone gives you only 12mp or 24mp camera still the quality of the image is much better than that of bigger mp smartphones. The reason is simple that iphone is giving you greater image sensor as compare to rest of the companies. You can also compare it. Simply, just place iphone at one side and on the other side any other smartphone and you will automatically see the difference.
